The Kitchen

I finally got around to taking some photos of the newly renovated kitchen. You may want to refer back to post Surprise it's My Birthday for the before photos. It's sad to see that it was last August when I started the renovation.

Some things are still uncompleted. I need to redo the banister because it does not meet national Building Code anymore. The front entry's flooring needs to be done (waiting on banister), and there is still a lot of trim in the from room for the bedrooms.

This past weekend I was involved in some sort of a fair for the YMCA for women. I had a booth set up that was all about the HandyWOMAN. Things that a woman is able to do. I didn't have many people by my booth, seeing as other booths included: body and hand massages, Gel nails, Chai Thi, Reflexology, Avon just to name a few. I was placed beside the Avon table. I thought how fitting, after pounding some nails and handling some rough lumber you got to use some moisturizer. But all in all some people picked up some business cards, so some time for some free advertising.

Marsha and a couple of her friends are heading to Calgary this weekend. Don't know what I'll be doing, maybe more cleaning in the garage.

Pictures You've Been Waiting For

Ok, so maybe everyone hasn't been waiting for these pictures but some have. Sorry about the delay but I had trouble posting the pictures. These are the pictures of the full wall closet organizer I finished recently. I also built some matching bed side tables to go with it. The Cabinets are Melamine inside (particleboard with a hard white surface) and have oak plywood doors an drawers. The pictures are at weird angles. The unit is in a mobile home in the small master bedroom with the much needed storage. So these photos are the best I could do. The unit is over 12 feet long and seven feet tall. This was a great project to do. I really enjoyed the time I put in. Unfortunately I undersold myself. Oh well learn next time.

I called about a job last week which I said I could do back in September. I warned the lady it wouldn't be for a while. When I called back she seemed hesitant. I found out she called someone else. The work hasn't been started yet but she's waiting on a quote. She is still interested and asked when I could start. I said Today but she's sick and feels this would just be too much. She'll be calling when she's feeling better. Not that that will slow any of my jobs down. I'm currently cleaning the garage for a new home for my tools. Plus there's quite the list on the dinning room table that I have to do.

I was talking to a friend who I used to work for in the construction field, he's now back to pastoring. I ended up buying his truck, which has served me well so far, and he's passing along anyone who still calls him. He said it's kind of a Faith business. You never know when you'll get a job.

Marsha and I went to Yorkton this past weekend for a Marriage conference. Although we are not married yet, this conference was for anyone who is willing to attend. It was a very good seminar and I felt well informed about how our relationship should work. We learned about our roles in our relationship. I'd recommend that seminar, or another one, for any couple.

My family is gathering in Moose Jaw for the Easter weekend. My brother is flying in and so is my sister. My cousin Sarah and her bo are also coming from Saskatoon. Should be a good time had by all.

The Post Post

We went to Moore's yesterday to check out some Tuxes. It's too bad they don't carry some styles of jackets in but I guess due to size differences in people it would be impossible to carry one of every size. They do carry samples of vests so we could see the colours and styles. After arriving a lady asked if we had booked an appointment. I don't really know what you need to book and appointment for, to look through a book of tuxes since they don't carry anything in. I think she was thinking I needed measurements. That's later.

We went out to Caronport for Dinner at Shane and Amanda's place. Great meal and dessert too. We then went to check out some possible new talent playing B-ball in the gym. We then headed to the rink to watch some Caronport Cougar's action to see them lose their tourney. Apparently a big upset since they've done well all year.

I finally finished the Wardrobe unit I was working on. Pictures to come along with some of the kitchen. It looks good, if I don't say so myself. But that is to be determined by all the comments I'll receive after the pictures are posted. I also built 2 night stands for the couple to match. I am also trimming out the bedroom in oak and will possibly do another closet unit for their new bathroom they are renovating right now. We'll see.
