Too Hot!

Ok, I just had to add that I've got a Double Gulp in one hand, a fan in the face, and I'm in shorts in the basement and I'm still sweating. It's just too hot. Good to see that it's only 32 degrees outside and 26 inside.

Look, I Have Links

Been out of the loop for a while but am going to get back in the groove. I been wanting to add links to my friends blogs for a while but been too busy, but they are posted now so you'll have to check them out!

THAT'S TOO MUCH

I recently came to the conclusion that I take on too much (Actually, I've known this for a long time, back to high school days, but just can't seem to say "NO"). I've decided to try real hard on cutting back on things I take on. I do have some previous commitments that I need to keep though. I've got some house renovations, a fireplace mantel, DJ a Wedding Reception in August (for Moore's wedding Kyle), be the Stage Manager for the Theatre Festival that is coming in November just to name a few, but I need to STOP accepting other jobs and make more time for myself.

I need my Palm back. I bought a Palm Pilot back in the day to organize my life. I felt it worked to keep me organized and a place to store contact info and important dates. I'm currently looking for a new one. I like the new software that is with them, more Windows' based. I fell that this could help me to get my life back on track and organized and not a complete mess like it is now.

COME SAIL AWAY

Marsha's brother has invited me to go sailing with him. Should be a good time. He has a big Catamaran sailboat (for those who don't sail A Catamaran: a boat consisting of two hulls joined by a frame with a main and jib sail). I've never been on one before so this will be fun. My parents, well dad, said he could keep it on the beach at the lake so he can come sail the mighty shores of Buffalo Pound whenever he pleases.

LAST SUNDAY FOR A WHILE

This upcoming Sunday will be my last Sunday at church for a while. I've been doing sound for the FBC since my brother passed down the duty in 1995 so he could go to university. It has been hard to be the only one of my family attending Sunday morning for the past month. There have also been a few other familiar faces that I miss seeing. Not that I can't see them, but I just haven't. I still need to write a letter to the church to tell them I'll be resigning from the sound system (btw, how can you resign from a non paid position, or a job that is just expected of you) and create some sort of a manual for the sound system. I wanted to quit doing sound for Sunday morning since November (part of my "cut back and give Braden some more time" plan), but as you can see, it is June and I'm finally going to be done. This was so I could sit back take in church and not just attend (most of my taking in was done at the Connection, different story now). I had plans to fix some things with the sound system setup but looks like they will only be recommendations now.

I do miss the Connection and hope to find another service like it soon. While in Surrey, BC, I attended a service very similar. It is the church that Marsha's brother attends. It takes place in a school gym. It had a coffee and fellowship time like the Connection did. On another note, some of the Connection members are having a BBQ this weekend out in Caronport. Should be good time to catch up. I'd like to keep in contact with this group. Maybe the next event we'll have will be out at our cabin.

Vancouver Trip Part Deux

I'm back from Vancouver for the second time, this time it was for a wedding, and not mine. The trip was good, but felt short. We left after work on Wednesday and got in to Calgary around 1am. The next morning got up and drove right to Vancouver. We should have taken our time. I'm a little disappointed in myself that we didn't stop and enjoy the scenery. We did make good time though.

Friday we spent most of our time shopping. I felt I didn't have much of a wardrobe for an outdoor wedding. We did find some linen pants and a good pair of shoes. We also spent some time looking for a wedding gift.

Saturday was Marsha's nephew's 2nd birthday party. About 40 people stormed the house. Fun, never attended a 2 year olds birthday since oh, 19 years ago. The theme was a monkey theme with banana invitations and a monkey cake. Very cute I can say. We thought of doing something, just Marsha and I, while in Vancouver, but didn't make those plans either. Good thing we're both planners.

Sunday was the wedding. We went to church in the morning then for a lunch. We still had to get the rest of the gift for the wedding, so were a little rushed. The wedding was for a friend of Marsha's. It was an outdoor wedding. The father did the ceremony, the pastor of Marsha's family's church. The reception was at a church hall where there were orderves. I prepared myself for a light snack, so pig'd out at lunch. (didn't eat much at all at the reception) There was a Jazz combo set in the corner for the night. Gave it a nice feeling, although I didn't get to strut my stuff on the dance floor too much, can't really jazz dance.

All in all a good weekend, with much time spent with Marsha, 149 consecutive hours. I do like the west and plan to live in one of the western provinces for good.

Episode III

After long awaiting to see this movie I finally got out and saw it last night. Overall, I loved it. In the beginning I realized how much I like R2D2. He can kick some butt. In the other movies I only remember R2's whistling of woot-woo. It's funny to hear a R-unit show expression through his noises.

I actually enjoy how the movies are separated by a few years in timeline. Of course those who are Star Wars fans know that this is the episode where you see Anakin turn to the dark side, very cool. It also shows why Darth Vader is in his suit to begin with.

I've heard the argument from many people that you should watch 4, 5, 6 then 1, 2, 3. I kind of disagree. In the past week, I watched the first three episodes and can't wait to watch the middle three. (Wonder if Marsha will watch these ones with me or if she's Star-Wars-outed, yes I know great grammar) I like to watch things in order, clears things up.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SR. JAGO

It's Dad's birthday today, so we are going out for lunch in Regina to East Side Marios. I haven't been there since my bank fraud incident (nearly $2000 was taken out of my bank account, and some was withdrawn from East Side Marios in E-town, have been boycotting it since really, I know its not Mario's fault.)

Now I'll admit, I haven't gotten him anything yet, but I'm sure I'll get him something soon. This should be reminder to my brother as well, as I think he's one of the three that read my blog.

The reasoning for the SR: Dad, my brother and I are all referred to as Jago (dad not so much anymore) but when my brother and I are with eachother's friends that's the name we get called. It gets real confusing when three of us are together and one of our friends calls out Jago and all three of us respond.

THE LIFTS ARE IN

We put the boat lifts in yesterday. This is good, cause I feel it is a sign of summer. We also helped to put both neighbors to the East and West lifts in. Now that we've got the lift in, we just need a boat to put in it. Our motor has had some damage for the second year to the lower end of the motor where all the gears are. So we (meaning dad and I) have been looking for newer used ones. Dad did buy a truck this year, (to pull a boat??) so I think it is out of the question this year.

We'll I have to go do sound at the church, so I'll be back later tonight to post again, I still have a few thoughts I'd like to write down.

A recap of a Fun Filled Evening

Last night marsha and I went to see "The Longest Yard" staring Adam Candler, Chris Rock, Burt Reynolds, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Goldberg, and more importantly Kevin Nash. Now some of you may be wondering who the last three Actors are, well they are not really actors, well some to think of it, they are WWE superstars, yes wrestlers. I was also glad to see Rob Schneider in the movie as well, an Adam Candler standard. Movie was great. I do enjoy a good comedy once in a while. recommend for others to see it.

Ran into Jon and The Boy after the show. Turns out they went to the same movie. I didn't hear their "What?" chants. I know I would have died laughing.

JAGO IN PURSUIT

The drive home was interesting. After dropping Marsha off at home I went up 9th Ave. NW.

At 12:10 am, June 1, 2005, I encountered a yellow bronco truck at the corner of 9th and Caribou. The vehicle was partially in my lane and his with his right signal light on. When the light turned green the vehicle sped off at a fast pace and begun to swerve all over the road. I thought it might be a possible DUI so I (being the good Samaritan) thought I should follow him and see what he was up to. After reaching speeds of 70km/hr and still swerving all over the roads I thought to call it in. I called 911 at 12:17 and they dispatched me thru to the police department. The vehicle almost didn't stop at the Thatcher Dr. and 9th ave intersection, then proceeded to the #1 highway. He drove thru the 9th ave and #1 highway intersection nearly hitting a Eastbound van. The Vehicle then turned on to the highway and headed West swerving left to right, almost coming to a complete stop on the highway then signaling right then left. He then did a U-turn at the next crossroad and headed back towards the city limits. The police were finally on scene and met me at the intersection of 9th and #1 highway. I then felt safe to leave the scene.

The dispatch officer told me she "don't expect you to follow him on the highway." I thought it was in my best interest to keep an eye on the vehicle to make sure he doesn't kill himself or someone else.

I then headed home and went to bed. I couldn't get to sleep right away. I think it was the thought of me being in pursuit of a DUI. I then got a call from the dispatch officer wondering if I could stop by the station and give a statement. So I did. Come to think of it, I think I did a better job describing the situation here than in my actual statement. I commented to the officer that I was no English major and could probably right it out a second time and it might have made more sense.

So Chalk one up for the good guy. 1 more less idiotic stupid drunk driver off the road.

STAR WARS TRILOGY

Marsha and I started to watch the Star Wars series. I want to see Episode 1&2 again before 3. It's been a while. Watched 1 on Sunday night, 2 is tonight and 3 maybe Friday night with another couple. Look at us going out with other couples aren't we just great.
